The new Recreation Facility at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Menlo Park, includes a clubhouse designed to conserve energy, housing a barbeque patio, lounge, warming pantry and public restrooms, combined with new multipurpose fields for softball, bocce and tennis courts, putting greens, and fitness stations that will enable the rehabilitation and recreation of the resident patients. In addition, the work includes drought tolerant landscaping, construction of additional parking, site infrastructure improvements and lighting. This project will also decommission and raze seismically and/or functionally-deficient buildings.
These facilities will enable the Recreation Therapy group to offer enhanced and expanded treatment programs to veterans.
