VA Palo Alto Ambulatory Care Center Replanning

As authors of the PACT Space Module Design Guide, MEI Architects were tasked with studying the adaptation of the Smithgroup JJR-designed Ambulatory Care Center at Palo Alto to accommodate the new care model. As the project had been taken to schematic design level before the replanning effort, the MEI team – supported by Cannon Design – worked to retain the site design and overall aesthetic while reworking the interior planning to provide a more efficient layout, a more pleasant patient experience, and 10,000 square foot reduction in overall building size.
